This is the blog/website for Steve Halle, writer, editor, publisher, and educator. I am the author of the poetry collection Map of the Hydrogen World (Cracked Slab Books, 2008) and the chapbook cessation covers. I founded the online poetry journal Seven Corners, the chapbook imprint PRESS 254, and co•im•press, a collaborative, cooperative, immediate micropress that publishes strange, transgressive, “unpublishable” poetry, prose, translations, and born digital texts from unsung or under-sung authors. I also curate the  Re:Verse reading series in Bloomington-Normal, Illinois.

I have a BA in English literature from Lake Forest College, an MFA in poetry from New England College, and am a PhD candidate in English studies at Illinois State University. I am the codirector of the English Department’s Publications Unit at Illinois State University.

  1. Steve,
It’s Brian Foster. I took your 247, and 285 (I think it was 285?) classes. You might not remember me, no big. I just started my own blog on wordpress and I’ve just begun learning the ins and outs. I guess I should have just stuck with the assigned blogs in your classes as opposed to longhand in a journal. I’m trying to get a post of at least 350 words a day. Check it out from time to time when you get a chance.
